Celebrating Slumdog Millionaire with Oscars

March 1, 2009

Very recently read an article in TOI on malnutritioned Children in India, the figures are heart breaking, 230 million children do not get proper food for their survival. India topping the charts in number of malntitioned chidren. World’s 27% malnutritioned population is  in our country.

WOW!!! wondering to read the story in a newspaper which depicted india shining sometimes back.

The article highlights some of the hard core realities of india & so does the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. Why we feel ashamed on being highlighted by a foreigner who finds slums on a way to airport which we don’t wish to even think about. we just want to showcase our goodie image with our business growing, our GDP on a growth upsurge. It’s just like Wearing Branded shoes with Torn socks, somebody has just taken off our shoes.

Let’s celebrate on recognition of indian art & music across the globe without exaggerating over whether we should or shouldn’t. Who knows when we are indulging in this over hyped debate,  somebody might find few moments to change life of a single kid out of those 230 millions.

Hello world!
